What the heck is so hard about releasing ...

Man, I've been waiting forever for Crash BAsh and CTR but it appears that that day will never come! It's like they just forgot or something! Why won't they just RELEASE THE STINKING GAMES ALREADY? :evil:What the heck is so hard about releasing ...
They do, every Thursday. Take a breath and calm down. What the heck is so hard about releasing ...
Licensing mainly

Edit: Or so I'd imagine
They're doling them out very slowly, and releasing the trash first (''Rainbow Six'' sucked on PS1 and does anyone honestly care about the Ford Motors product-placement racing title? Hey I know, Let's Release the BURGER KING GAMES NEXT!)I hear your screams, I want the A-List stuff too, it'll happen.
It is said better days are coming. Heck I heard about Metal Gear Solid being downloadable there in the near future.
I agree. Look at the difference between the NA/EU and JP stores: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PSOne_Classics
Why cant the stupid North America store get those resident evil games! Your right, it is frusterating!

Ummm, check the store this coming Thursday...
As xaos said, it actually does have to do with licens issues in North America. Same reason the 60GB PS3 got removed from the market.
As xaos said, it actually does have to do with licens issues in North America. Same reason the 60GB PS3 got removed from the market.
Explain, please. Where is the hang-up in license for games Sony has already distributed here in NA for games which are still for sale in NA re-sale shops in hard-copy (I saw ''RE: Nemesis'' two days ago)? And what does Sony yanking 60G PS3s have in relation? I ask because I don't know...
PS2 backwards-compatibility was scrapped in PS3s to decrease production costs, digimonkey12. Backwards-compatible models were built with the Emotion engine, which increased the costs. Other than that, I don't think Sony should have any problems releasing games they already distributed before.
Guess I am misinformed, I have read that because of region licences the PS3 60 GB with ''Emotion Engine'' CPU chip.had to be removed , but as I said I must be misinformed.About PSX games, as far as I remember it is not whether hard-copy PSX games are still in sale but whether the laws in a specific region allows them to be emulated for PSP and that would be the reason that Japan gets more PSX titles for the PSP, but dont ask my why and how.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because they were licensed for release on a particular console in a particular format. A new format and distribution channel require a new format, since it wasn't addressed in the original contract. If anyone had considered the possibility of digital distribution, I'm sure the original agreements would have accounted for this.

I knew this when concerned with film and recording rights (being a sound engineer for a living), I don't know why I didn't see the corellation.
sony has to modifiy the game for psp
sony has to modifiy the game for psp
Prove your statement, please. The games we're all talking about here have been available for YEARS in the PSP format, just not REGIONALLY. If you have no real information please stay out of the conversation, especially when a real and logical reason has already been given.
