PSP's future?

What do you expect for the future of playstation portable? A few things I think will be added are; a touch screen, bluetooth, having all games downloadable thru the PSN, maybe a keyboardPSP's future?
the psp2 might save the psp from its death but if it costs over $200 psp will die and with no good game scoming out i predict psp deathPSP's future?
Lol yeah. But i HOPE it will survive.
I think the PSP is Sony's first handheld hardware, BUT if they follow Nintendo's leadat all, they will do what they did with the Gameboy series and expand on strenghts, utilise new technology etc. with successive models. In other words, PSP needs a second thumbstick to play FPS. That's easy. People keep saying UMD sucks...think that's unfair thoughwhen i think about it..how are they much different to cartridges? Plus you can already download PSP games off Playstation Store, so you can go 'disc free' already if you want.Plus PSP can do a LOT for such a little thing, go online etc.The biggest mistake SOny's made is WHERE ARE THE GAMES? Where is GTA Chinatown? We might get it in another 6 months, but that just makes new purchasers go for a DS instead....In order for there to be a future for the PSP where itisn't a second string machine, it's to go out and get some exclusive games pronto! At microsoft don't have a handheld! :)
I think if they redesign the look and feel of it and add touchscreen plus a mobile phone fucntionality, PSP will stay.
It'll fail due to it's price. If people want media WITH games, they'd obviously choose an iPod Touch/iPhone. The PSP has too few good games, and they're few and far between. This is where the PSP fails the most. Having an all-in-one thing is pretty nice, but they'd have to outrank and outclass the DSi in every sense.
Do any of you actually pay attention to news or have a PSP? There are plenty of games coming out and that are out. And the new PSP 2 rumors are the dumbest thing I have ever heard. NO UMD Drive = Backwards compatablity with furute games and current libary. Touchscreen cna be very unresponsive and not friendly to those with big fingers. Keyboard isn't needed because it's not like the internet browser is that great anyways. and we all know how well a portable gaming device/phpne did be fore *cough*N-Gage*cough*.
PSP has lesser good games compared to the DS.

That still doesn't mean th PSP doesn't have much good games. Has plenty. Just does have a game released every week like the DS.

I'd rather buy games that are visible outside of the psp's screen, there's no way I'm going to waste bandwidth off the PSN for all my games. If the ''future psp'' has a touch screen, isn't it kinda ripping off the ds, in a way? I mean, Nintendo didn't invent the touch screen of course, but they were the first to successfully use it on a handheld console (forgetting about the ipod touch, which doesn't count...at all). Well, i don't know, I guess they haven't copyrighted the use of one, I think...
First of all, get rid of UMD. Replace it with another more widely used format (maybe use mini DVDs that the Gamecube since it would be the ideal size). It will need new IPs made by Sony exclusive for the PSP, not PS2 ports to watered down versions of PS3 games. It has some but it needs some unique high selling games such as Nintendogs and Brain Training (something unique). Also GT not making out on the PSP was a real killer (meant Mario Kart DS totally dominated the handheld racing genre), they need to get a new GT out for the next PSP within the first 2 years of release.Much improved PSN shop, atleast match the one Japan has with a lot of PS1 games.Small built in hard drive memory or the very least, allow for the use of SD cards (which are much cheaper than memory card duo).

I just want great games on hard copy so I can collect them.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm a big Sony fan. I'm a big Square-Enix fan.But there's not way in hell I'm buying another PSP for $2-300. If that's their ''solution'' anyways...And I think I can speak for the majority of PSP owners.I hope Sony is smart enough to even see a problem this simple and adjust their marketing accordingly.
So true...
Yep. They keep making models but eventually we wont buy the new ones.
