IGN says 05/26 so yeah it has been out 3 days.
i'll get this one
this game is really addicting to play. i think the difficulty level is really up there unless u only play ''easy'' settings. i suck tapping 4 buttons so i just play the easy mode and enjoy the ride. the game is simple enough. switching instruments is fun actually. it makes things more interesting where you have to switch equipment to keep that instrument playing and if u ignore it too long, then that instrument will stop playing. there are 4 instruments to switch from : mic(vocals), bass, lead guitar, and drums. switching instrument is done using L or R shoulder buttons. only thing i don't like about this game is 1) from what i have seen it kills battery fast, much faster than other regular games. 2) i think the song selections that are available are ok and not GREAT. some of them are good some of them bad, mostly i found them to be bad or something i don't listen to. hpoefully they will add more songs to download and that will fix this minor issue. there is no multiplayer for this game. so ya no ad hoc or playing with a buddy. i purchased it cuz i needed a break from the usual games, and what do you know its really really fun just to pick it up, play a song you like and enjoy. the difficulty level is really high for normal/hard/expert modes, so some people will get frustrated easyly and slam their psp on the ground.
That is good to hear since so many were busy bashing the game before it was released. Cant wait to try Jackson 5. it is ABC right ?-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
yes. ABC by jackson 5. i always enjoy playing this on the bus (my bus from work to home takes about 25-30 min). so i can just pick it up and play on the bus. the world tour mode is just like rock band 2 where you get more fans/stars/money depending on how good you play the song. you can hire new staff and buy tour bus with the money as well. you can modify the game through one of the options and unlock all the songs if you choose to skip the world tour mode and play a song that you do like. the 4 buttons for hitting the notes are the left button, the up button, the triangle button and the circle button. shoulder buttons switches instrument. there is a overdrive mode by hitting X as well that will get more to x11 multiplier for scoring higher. it is achieved by hitting the notes that are shaded white first to build up overdrive meter. i am new to rock band so those of you who played the console versions of rock band / rockband 2 are more familiar about it than i am. you can customize the way your band looks as well. in ign's review they complained about how the animation for the band player movements dont match up to the actual song. trust me when you are playing this game and trying to hit a perfect score, the least thing you will worry about is the background band player's animation. anyway.. great game. loved it. if you are not good with button pressing action sequences in other games then this game will be a challenge for you. i think its fun change for me since i have been playing a lot of rpg's.
i tried the demo and i couldnt get the hang of it. is it really like this on the full game? does it have to switch instruments everytime? i cant play just the guitar from start to finish?
I'd be more inclined to get this if it were like Beats and let you use your MP3s. I hate the music selections these games have.
I thought the Demo was pretty fun, but I'm not sure if it warrants a forty dollar purchase, maybe if it was 30. I might still pick it up, ill mess around with the demo more.
Got the demo and thought I would like it, but I really don't. I wouldn't wipe my nose on it.
I'm going to get it. I wasn't planning on getting it, but I played the demo and it pleased me more than I thought it would. It's definately different, and worth a try.

However in the actual game there is a warm up mode where you can play just one intrustment if you want. Still though the switching instruments does make it more fun just wish you could have the option to not.
