Enlighten me, what is the point of PSP G ...

ok it doesn't add anything to the hardware, its design is so strange, when a customer is gonna buy a PSP, what will make the PSP GO his/her choice instead of the regular one????Enlighten me, what is the point of PSP G ...
The PSP Go merely appeals to those who like digital download as it is a growing trend. Thats it in a nut sheel. Hard Drive, smaller, longer battery, and download only media.Enlighten me, what is the point of PSP G ...
in all honesty the point to the psp go is to compete in the ''iphone'' market the point was to make it portable enough to use as a phone but have the power of a handheld system same thing for the zune hd it's just a matter of time to see who carries these game/phone devices since att has bad service well at least here in california they do.

It doesn't have a hard drive, but it has 16 GB of flash. 16 gigs is plenty (Considering the size and content of PSN stuff), plus the fact that you can increase the size with memory sticks. In another words, it's just another choice for newcomers.
This is irritating. First Koller says they consider physical distribution important too, and now he says certain games will only be availabla via digital distribution??? I hope the new MGS is not one of them, and neither is Gran Turismo Mobile. Taking out the UMD is raping the costumer who has been loyal for the whole time!!!

Have you read any of the other posts? The PSP Go is more friendly for newcomers and is basically a different choice.Besides, UMD was always a crap format. Terribly slow loading, big, loud, easy to scratch.
Oh yeah? I don't know what you are talking about. There were not long load times with WELL-DONE and polished games like Tekken DR, MGS: PO and GOW:CoO. UMD is not a crappy format. There were many lazy developers who didn't polish their sh_tty ports or remakes and those games did load for a long time. But taking out the format for that.... why should I pay for air when for the same price I can buy physical copies? And Koller himself said that some games will be download-only. I don't want to download the new MGS from PSN, I want to buy it so I can read the manual, hold the disk, and feel like I really got something for my cash. But if it's OK for you to pay for something you could get illegally for free than have fun!

He said they would be gmaes thta you could play like 15 mins and put away. So like XBL arcade games or PSN games.
Well I hope he was talking about those games not coming on UMD. I just worry because I don't want this new trend from completely taking over. I love disks, cartriges and whatever physical things with games on them. I want to keep on buying physical copies. If they release little, simple games on PSN-only, fair enough. That would even be a wonderful idea. I'm not against digital distribution as long as it's not in the way of physical distribution.

The PSP Go just doesn't have the UMD Drive. Again, it's not replacing the 3000. Just it's brother.Everybody has their own preference, I really like downloaded games. Loading speeds are way faster, and everything is inside the system. Also when I play the game, I do have the feeling I received something that I asked for- a game.I'm sure people were even more pissed when CDs replaced their tapes, or when mp3s totally ****ed up the CD market.P.S.- You can still read the manual for downloaded games.
so there is no hardware ugrading at all?!!!!!!!!! pretty much failure IMO.the current psp is small and portable enough, the only thing missing is games which are coming like a flood this year...... stupid Sony, if they really wanted to go digital, then why dun they use the same technique that the homebrew uses that allow you to install the game on ur MS and play it?, an update would be enough to go digital.......again PSP GO is pointless,

yeah, i don't actually own a PSP, i've played a couple of them. but this idea of digital downloads (possibly trophies because of no hacking perhaps?), and a smaller package (and i like the design), consider me sold.only thing holding me back is price points, and i don't think it should cost anymore then $199. at least in my opinion.
Wasent the umd drive one of the most expensive bits of the psp?
i thought it was, all i can think of is that it ought to be a lot cheaper to make them now. i am actually really excited to hear more about this thing.I wasn't sold on the DSi, because i don't need a camera and i lose the GBA slot, so i stuck with my DS Lite. but i've been really yearning for smaller packaged PSP, with a better line up of games. the only concerns i got are price points (both for the machine, and how much are they gonna charge for digital downloads) and how will they deal with backward compatibilty if at all.
Wasent the umd drive one of the most expensive bits of the psp?
Probably... It's really bulky, and that was pretty much the entire weight of the system. The PSP Go is 43% lighter, so that says something. It did use a huge amount of battery life, so I expect a much better battery.P.S.- Here's an excerpt of the PSP Go article on GS.According to Koller, the main differences between the PSP Go and the PSP-3000 are ''on-board memory, the flash memory, and 16 gigs of space. There's Bluetooth on board as well, so you can use a Bluetooth headset, and you can actually tether it to your cell phone as well. But ultimately, it's the portability. Since you can bring all that content with you in a smaller form factor, you've got the most immersive games to play, and now you've got a smaller unit to do it with.''

looks like the psp go is a day one buy for ya buddy
Really, there is none. But does it matter? Nintendo's DSi is a joke and theres no reason real reason to get it over the Lite. What Nintendo released to attract casuals, Sony is doing the same to attract the iPhone crowd. Who cares. As long as they keep making some solid games its all ok.

Besides, I'm pretty sure that all content for the PSP GO is all compatible with previous models.
