Sry for another PSP Go thread but I haven't seen a will you upgrade thread yet so here it goes...(oh god....) Will you upgrade? Since the PSP Go was leaked on Qore which is basically offical sony news, the PSP Go is pretty much confirmed. One thing I loved however was we will still be able to get our games in the form of UMDs and use them on the current models. The Go seems cool but because I have a nice collections of games on UMD that I still play I most likely won't upgrade unless they find a way to transfer the games onto the Go. So are any of you going to Go upgrade when it comes out or later on in it's lifespan? The only thing that would hold me back is my UMDs.Will You Go Upgrade?
I probably won't. I like having a hard copy of my game, not digital. Will You Go Upgrade?
I probably won't. I like having a hard copy of my game, not digital.
I do too but I am guessing that sooner or later the UMD format will be ditiched and we would have to upgrade for new content. So I think it would be benedical if they make or find an option to let us transfer our UMDs some how. Like: we register the UMD on the PSN, Then that game will be available free for download and we have our games. (of cousre the code would become invalid too).
No.
What if you don't have a credit card or the PSN cards aren't available in your region, how can you buy the all digital games?
I think my 2000 will last me... the UMD games will drop in price and I'll get what I want, and a few downloads... but honestly I could care less about all of this. I'm a gamer well behind the times and I like it that way. Early adoption only gets you heartache lately when it comes to the newest tech gadgets and this will be no different. I assume it will take them glacial speed to make the thing fly correctly here in the States, and by then who knows what I'll be playing? Besides ''Doom'', for sure. The ONLY game i have any dedication to whatsoever. I've got games already that i haven't finished, and the few more that I actually care about (besides retro titles) will last... the sky is definitely not falling.
Probably not. The new PSP looks kinda ugly. The current ones look a million times better and sleeker. Plus, I want to be able to play my old UMDs. I'm going to wait till Sony completely puts out a real PSP2.
mh... no
The PSP 3000 an the PSP Go, only has a few of changes, it woul be a waste.
I like to have hard copy's of everything and this new psp looks ugly and the controls look awkward so I will stick with my 2000 and stay well away.
Yes, i dont own a PSP as of now, and i LOVE digital distribution.

If you don't like the system appreciate the fact that Sony is stepping up their game with PSN and PSP owners can STILLdownload the new products.
I need more info before I cast the first stone (or, alternatively, jump on the Go bus). It would be great if Sony has some sort of online trade in plan for first/second/third adopters of the PSP, and 16 gigs of onboard memory is very attractive.I need more information though; I guess I'll see if I'm yea or nay at E3.
its basically the same as a PSP-3000 (yes its got flash memory but that is countered with its smaller screen), which will cost you a couple hundred dollars again. so no.
No, I won't, I'll just wait for the PSP 2. If I didn't already have a PSP I definitely would get the Go model though.

Yes, it's smaller, but the fact that it's smaller actually makes it better.

As i look at all of the crud piling up around me, the loss of UMD cases is no big deal... It's just that what i have works and will continue to work just fine even with all of the downloadable games in the future... Sony won't alienate the millions of hardware owners they already have as loyal fans, they just wanna add to it with this option. I love the idea of having a bunch of my favs (like I already do, with ''Twisted Metal 2'' and ''Warhawk'' PS1 classics off PSN) all available without all the UMDs lugged around, but... Money is too tight to start muckin' about. Simple. Now, if I didn't own one yet, I would wait for a year or two into the thing's life to see how it fairs... THEN I'd buy!:P

I was going to put that in the poll but I then I had the stupid last already in place...I think I might do that as well. Once it's cheaper I may buy it.
Things are much more dependable these days then they were, even a few short years ago. I remember when CD came to the marketplace, and everyone complained about the soud and the risky format and the blah blah, and then albums began to be properly mastered for the format and the sound got better, and we all mellowed out (pretty much) on the idea of ''going digital''... this is really no different. The technology is being brought up at a geometric rate since i began gaming back around 1977 - yes, I fart dust - and we as the adventurers in this new frontier, must take a few bold steps if we're ever gonna reach the Promised Land of video gaming... where you CAN have ''Halo 3'' in your pocket, an entire catalogue of ''Final Fantasy'' games at your fingertips, and a brighter day will dawn, and we will look at our PSPs and laugh at them like VirtualBoys, wondering just WHAT anyone was thinking with that ugly thing...... like Mattel Football looks to me now...... but I'll tell ya, back in the day it was cool... it wasn't the glory of a Foosball table, but then again, it fit in your POCKET.These are electrifying times to be a gamer, folks... this is really one of the only places left to look upn something with starry-eyed wonder. Keep an open mind, and let the creators work with it a little before you bash on it too hard.
